This was the last day we spoke-
Sat by the lake and wept
Blue tears to dry earth.
They burt holes,
Small scars to show
The last of us.
Hand in hand we talked,
Stepped through mist
That we could only see
While our eyes were blind-
We trod on the cracks
Of our path. Like fire, ice, and
Ten years’ bad luck.
So close we stood-
Our kiss so cold and close as to be
Fist to fist.
I think we moved too far
Too fast.
I left you there
That day-
Tears in my eyes
Like clouds.
I walked too far,
Too fast.
But not to turn back-
To hold strong in pride.
I left you.
Did you ever come back?
