Hi everyone,

Just wanted to get a blog up to let you know that this Thursday Gapyear.com will be presenting a gap year roadshow at 6pm in Lecture Hall 1, Waterfront Building of University Campus Suffolk.

On the night, one person in the room will win a free Round the World flight ticket and there will be other prizes and giveaways, such as a free backpack from outdoor specialists Blacks.

The point of the event is to introduce you to your main gap year options: travel, work and volunteering, as well as looking at how taking some time out to travel can help get you on a path to employment.

The format is going to be a series of short, fun talks from top travel and employment experts from the UK and Australia, plus returned gappers and experienced overseas volunteers. Which is cool.

There will also be a talk from former BBC journalist Tim Fenton on Gapyear.com’s forthcoming Writers Academy, so if you fancy yourself as a travel writer/blogger or just someone with a travel story to tell, come along and check it out.

The event is open to anyone considering a gap year and is free. Afterwards we will heading to the Kai bar. (We’ll be handing out some free drinks vouchers on the night.)

We reckon it’s going to be properly good, and as it starts at 6pm there’ll be time for IP1 volunteers to catch the presentation then head into town for the usual IP1 meet.

It would be great to have your support, and it would be awesome to see loads of you there.

P.S. As an extra bit of publicity, a few of the guys from Gapyear (including me) are going to be at Blacks on Tavern Street on Weds 4 May between about 1pm - 2.30pm flyering and modelling some backpacker threads in Blacks shop window. Come along and check it out.
