Biggles Scouts About is a totally original show prepared by Hadleigh Sea Scouts with permission from the estate of the author Captain W E Johns.
The Goodies are being played by the Scouts, whilst adults have been cast as the Baddies.
Hadleigh Sea Scout Group is in partnership with Norfolk and Suffolk Aviation Museum (Flixton, Near Bungay) who have been advising on historical accuracy and constructed a 4/5ths replica Spitfire Cockpit for key scenes in the play.
Set in North Africa, the play covers the kidnap of a Professor and his Daughter, Spitfires disappearing on ‘suicide flights’., Parachuting on stage, explosions, dogfights and homages/ recreations of famous scenes from Raiders of the Lost Ark, Casablanca and the Maltese Falcon.
Performances are 22nd 23rd 24th and 25th October in Hadleigh and on the 29th (Matinee and Evening) in the hanger of the air museum at Flixton.
The Show is being made possible with the support of the Heritage Lottery Fund and the Suffolk Foundation.
