Pulse saw the big launch of The Campsite, a mobile venue showing impractical performances on a custom pitch inside and around a collection of vintage vehicles and caravans. This included two theatre spaces, a music venue, a mini-cinema, and other various bits and bobs which I had the good fortune of going to see. With 35 performers, 67 shows, and 500 theatrical performances, it was really a few days you shouldn’t have missed.
I saw some incredible musicians play, had a bride pour her eyes out to me over a glass of wine, had a coffee with the snobs, and got foamed by the ghost busters, mostly all with a beer in my hand! And overall I was just sad I couldn’t have stayed for it all!
It was one of the best ideas for creating an environment in which you aren’t just going to see a performance, you’re part of it as well! With a team of extremely talented and passionate guys n dolls of all ages, it was pulled off beautifully, and seemingly effortlessly… So I beat my hands wildly together for everyone that took part in making my weekend one to remember! I look forward, with great anticipation, to being able to see it again!
