A Unique Design Auction

Date and Time: 13/12/2012 17:30 - 19:30
Location: Waterfront Auditorium, UCS Waterfront Building, Ipswich

Final year BA (Hons) Graphic Design and Illustration students are raising funds for the end of year degree show 2013, in the form of an auction of international graphic design and illustration.

This event features works from prestigious names such as Gerald Scarfe, Jonathan Barnbrook, Brian Grimwood, George Underwood, Pentagram USA and other world wide known contributors who have kindly donated their work for the auction.

Pentagram is the world’s largest independent design consultancy with offices in London, New York and Berlin.  They have worked for many notable clients such as Nike and Microsoft.

Gerald Scarfe has been the political cartoonist for the London Sunday Times for the last 44 years and is a regular contributor to the New Yorker Magazine.  Some of his famous work includes Pink Floyd’s The Wall and Walt Disney’s Hercules.

Jonathan Barnbrook is one of the most influential and renowned designers of our time.  His work pioneers the notion of graphic design with a social conscience.  He is most recognised for his design of the cover for David Bowie’s 2002 album Heathen, and his collaborations with Damien Hirst.

Illustrator, Brian Grimwood, heralded as ‘The man who changed the look of British illustration’, has worked for the BBC, the Royal Opera House and Johnny Walker amongst many others over four decades.  He is also a founder of the Central Illustration Agency (CIA) and the Association of Illustrators (AOI).

Registration of the event will be open from 5.30pm with the auction commencing at 6.00pm.

Lots will be on display in the Foyer of the Waterfront Building from Saturday 1 December 2012.
