The theatre is central to the creative life of Suffolk and seeks to expand the horizons of audiences and artists by presenting a programme designed to entertain, enrich and challenge.
This autumn, the New Wolsey has an exciting programme of performances planned. Check out the full programme below to see what’s on.
Our pick of the programme sees the New Wolsey join forces with Ipswich’s groundbreaking SPILL Festival on Friday October 31 with The Live Art Community Musical, presented by performance company GETINTHEBACKOFTHEVAN. This radical approach to mounting a classic musical is for anyone who’s ever considered themselves a misfit and wants to make a riotous song and dance about it!
Stowaway, by ‘the bright young things of British theatre,’ Analogue, also looks intriguing. Here’s the pitch: ‘The wheels of a Boeing 777 unfold out of the belly of a plane as it begins its descent towards Heathrow. The frozen body of a stowaway is tipped out. In the carpark of a suburban DIY superstore, Andy looks up. Something is falling out of the sky. A man crash-lands on the ground in front of him…’
Stowaway also features as part of the New Wolsey’s PULSE festival 2014, which kicks off soon on May 29!
