Poor Cinderella (Sarah Moss) is forced to cook and clean by her wicked stepmother Evilla (Basienka Blake) – but help is at hand, in the form of Cinderella’s fairy godmother, Fairy Fingringhoe (Laura Curnick) and best friend and not-so-secret admirer Buttons (Dale Superville). With their help, she might be able to go to the Pick a Princess Ball at Colchester Castle, where Prince Charming (Simon Pontin) will choose his future wife. But with Cinderella’s ugly stepsisters determined to marry the Prince themselves, it’s not going to be easy!
Cinderella’s wicked stepmother is walking all over the competition
There’s everything you could ask for in a panto: music, dancing, jokes for kids and adults, a song with the audience (with actions), “It’s behind you!” and even the chance to get a panto selfie with the ugly stepsisters!
Things get messy with ugly stepsisters Triff (Tim Freeman) and Fluff (Ignatius Anthony)
Featuring songs you’ll know (including a brilliant mash-up of ‘Sexy and I Know It’ and ‘Wannabe’ from the ugly stepsisters) and songs written for the show, all with brilliant choreography, Cindarella will make you want to dance in the aisles as much as it’ll make you laugh.
I’m not sure that’s how you play the ukulele
A strong ensemble supports panto regulars and Mercury Theatre favourites Dale Superville, Tim Freeman and Ignatius Anthony, and with a stunning set and beautiful costumes, Cinderella truly brings a touch of magic to Colchester this Christmas.
Prince Charming and his servant Dandini welcome the audience to the ball! Or play rock, paper scissors with them
Running right up until 11 January, there’s plenty of chances to see this traditional family pantomime – so book your tickets now!
