Bristol based Spectres bring their extraordinary guitar noise live show to the John Peel Centre. Expect a blistering cacophony of twisted melody & psychedelic noise with a kaleidoscope of effects. The band play their music with eye-watering intensity, but underneath the textures are songs of depth & haunting beauty.
2015 has seen the release of debut album ‘Dying’ (Sonic Cathedral), receiving rave reviews from NME (9/10), Kerrang (KKKKK), Uncut (8/10), Drowned in Sound (8/10). They have performed at summer festivals & played gigs throughout Europe & beyond. The band also contributed a guest mix to the Tom Ravenscroft Radio 6Music show back in May.
Fans of classic guitar bands (My Bloody Valentine/Ride), early Sonic Youth/Jesus & Mary chain and more contemporary outfits like ‘a place to bury strangers’ shouldn’t miss the chance to see one of the UK’s most exciting guitar bands.
Support from Ipswich based indie-rockers War Waves and Norwich based shoegazers Teen Brains + DJ Matt Catling (IO Radio UK & Ipswich Community Radio.
“Spectres may well be the greatest noise we’ve heard this year” – Kerrang Magazine.
