The Jew, The Shrew and The Shoe

The jar of marmalade sits untouched in the cupboard.
Untouched, unopened and eaten.
Eaten by a shrew, a shrew in a shoe.
The shoe of a Jew. But the shrew is no Jew.
The shrew is a surgeon, he operated on a sturgeon
That he ate for his tea.
For this shrew likes fish, it is his favourite dish.
He likes to eat plaice, it brings a smile to his face
And warms the cockles of his heart.
He doesn’t like cockles.
He once ate a sole. He didn’t care much for sole.
He was confused and ate the sole of a shoe.
The shoe of a Jew.
A fishmonger who, had a fish smelling shoe.
The fishmonger Jew had a nose for a deal.
He bought a jar with a broken seal.
Because it was cheap.
But when he got home he fell asleep.
So the mistivious shrew, the shrew in the shoe
Took the opportunity to, eat the contents.
And so ends the tail of the shrew.
It was cut off by the Jew for eating his shoe.
And his marmalade even though he had no evidence.
