Nothing says Christmas quite like the opportunity to win a hideous orange mini and a giant cuddly toy cow… as I discovered at what was supposed to be a ‘Chirstmas Fayre’ outside the university building yesterday lunchtime.
To be honest I expected a little more; some mince pies perhaps, or simply some chestnuts - but no. The only ‘Christmas’ present here was in the form of the carol singers, who seemed blissfully unaware of the irony in singing “....And the running of the deer” from the ‘The Holly and the Ivy’ whilst positioned directly next to a stall named ‘Wild Game BBQ’...
