Illustrator Sam Peet Selected for AOI’s Images 35!

About a month ago, illustrator Sam Peet posted an image on the ShowOff called THE HORNED ONE. We loved it, and tweeted it round our networks to tell everyone about it.

The same image has now been selected by Association of Illustrations for inclusion in their ultra prestigious Images 35 competition.

Sam, who now lives and works in Brixton but who hails from deepest, rural Suffolk in a place called Nettlestead just outside Ipswich, is clearly chuffed to bits with this news and explains a bit about the competition and what this will mean for his career:

“It’s a book and an exhibition, so it just means that a very wide audience will see my work and it will just be amazing exposure! It’s completely unexpected as there are so many brilliant illustrators and I never thought my work would be considered to be anywhere near as good as the people who do get selected, so it’s a real honour!”

We agree. It is a real honour and a very cool achievement and IP1 wishes Sam all the best cos he’s lovely chap, not just a pretty illustrator!

Read an interview with Sam Peet in issue 32 of IP1, available to download.
