Short poem about a guy who teases his dog with a bottle rocket. (It’s not based on a true story. Honest.)

The Mars Rover eyes the rocket with suspicion.
It discards the bones and spheres;
this is the new distraction.

It moves closer as the rocket pops
The earth feels the momentum
whereas It feels a need to escape.

The rocket flies!
And The Mars Rover can’t help it.
A flurry of barks
whilst the spaceman laughs.
