This is a poem about vampires coming out at night and hunting for young virgins to feed on. I wrote this in the time it took for me to get home from the bus stop. Initially intended as lyrics I thought It was better as a poem. Enjoy!!

Virgin Brides
Eternal rights he was consigned
To a box velvet lined
Dormant he sleeps, waiting for the time
Waiting for the church bells to chime
To strike at midnight when the moon is high
Bright, in the sky, the need, the ache to satisfy
For the bloodlust is all consuming…
creeping through the darkness, slowly moving
searching for a virgin bride
searching for a virgin bride
to give and then take her life
to give and then take her life
passion grips, as bodies entwine
sacrifice for lust at his golden shrine
blood intoxicates like wine
taste of flesh is so divine
her chalk white beauty will never age
as she lays in her gown, black, made of lace
immortal fears lost for all of time
immortal fears lost for all of time
dead love buried for the rest of time
dead love buried for the rest of time
